The intellectual equivalent of a ham sandwich.

If you are Vanilla Ice, read on, otherwise this might not apply to you.

Vanilla, Mr. Ice, DUDE!, what’s up? How have you yet to capitalize on your biggest hit and turn that into a corporate workshop which you will charge obscene amounts of money for? Don’t you know how easy it would be? The majority of the groundwork is already done:

  • You have the speech mostly done,
  • You have name recognition so booking corporations will be a breeze!

Possible Itinerary

7 – 830, am breakfast and networking opportunities
830 – 9, Everyone goes to smaller rooms to meet their teams for the day long conference
9 – 10, Main conference area, Vanilla’s speech entitled Stop (where you talk about the importance of not trying to just put out fires but stopping, catching your breath, and forming a plan)
10 – 11, Teams gather to discuss the concepts from the Stop speech and work through some Stop scenarios
11 – 1230, Lunch and networking
1230 – 2, Collaborate speech in the main conference area from Mr. Ice
2 – 3, Teams gather, discuss (collaborate if you will), work through scenarios
3 – 4, Listen speech from Professor Vanilla Ice
4 – 5, Teams gather, etc
5 – 7, Cocktails and networking
7 – 710, For an extra X dollars from the sponsors you can sing the Go Ninja rap from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Come ON Vanilla, this opportunity is so obvious! You know how to find me, lets do this.

I call this look “Corporate Fresh, USA Style.”

How do you turn a pink bunny rabbit … into bronze? You get third place (in your age bracket) at a Halloween-themed run!

Nightmare Run Stretch

I’m so fast even while stretching I’m a blur …

Nightmare Run Action Pose

Some kind of action pose, huh?
The outfit is actually a set of woman’s onesie pajamas from Target. I cut off the little bunny rabbit feet which allowed my legs to actually fit which helped with the run.

Nightmare Run Jumping Rabbit

The weird thing is this is by far my best ever race photo from an event photographer. I should dress as a rabbit for more runs I guess.

Big Blog News

This month I am giving NaNoWriMo a shot. For those of you who don’t know, that is National Novel Writing Month.

The idea is that during the month of November you will start and finish a novel, and it has to be at least 50,000 words. If I knew a popular book with that amount of words I would tell you … but I have no idea what that is comparable to.

I do know that if you write every single day then you need to write around 1,667 words per day.

If you are also doing NaNoWriMo, find me and befriend me! My username is DumbFunnery.

In case you are curious, here is the synopsis I have for my “novel” so far (it feels far too ambitious to call it a novel at this point):

Doug Fontaine is a young engineer who has been selected as one of the less than 0.1% of the Earth’s population who will get to live by escaping the Earth.

Mrs. Susan Janet is a teacher who is past the point where she should have retired from teaching high school English – and she is only too glad to mock her students out loud now that she knows the Earth is ending so prior warnings about her behavior mean nothing.

God is debating whether sending that meteor to, in a sense, reboot humankind, was a good idea or not.

We’ll see how this works out for the three of them.

The reason this relates to my blog is because this means I’m going to be a bit lazier with the blog this month. I am thinking a Monday/Wednesday/Friday posting schedule (with the exception of this week). Of course you could always follow my blog (there’s a button on the blog for that), or follow me on Twitter, or like my Facebook page … or all three!, and then you would see whenever I have a new post.

I may continue even after November ends to do the three posts a week format. My hope is that I will spend less time on the blog and spend more time trying to compose query letters, or find magazines to send to, or write things worthy of sending to people/places … Basically, put more effort into what this blog is supposed to be doing (helping me to get published).

Wish me luck with NaNoWriMo (as of tonight I am 1,500 words behind where I should be at this moment … ruh roh).
