The text of the postcard is:
Dear Ellen,
Depicted here is a woman grieving the loss of her TV. To make her husband feel guilty about selling the tube (to upgrade to a 42″), she dressed in clothes to mourn, and she sat watching where the TV had been.
She is what scientists call, “lacking a hobby.”
