Dear Ellen,

Texas has been so dry the trees are bribing dogs so we won’t be watching a fireworks show.

(I looked up ‘Texas slang for dry’ and found that ‘dog’ phrase.)

Anyhow, happy 4th and here’s to my imaginary fireworks show!
